"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
Proverbs 22:6, Holy Bible, KJV
The mission of Operation MAD, Incorporated, since its inception in 2005, has been to aid youth and their parents/legal guardians in becoming productive citizens through developmental growth, conflict resolution, self-esteem building and behavior modification. This is accomplished by using positively reinforced life skills, basic, attainable principles, delivered by role models, learning tools, and extra curricular activities. It is the belief of Operation MAD that the application of these fundamentals will enhance not only the individual, but the community and society at-large.
The purpose of the program provided by Operation MAD serves to give guidance to adolescents, while providing them with community resources and skill sets that will aid them in their development beyond adolescence. The program serves traditional and non-traditional families, teaching self-discipline, parenting techniques, to include, but not limited to conflict resolution, drug awareness/prevention, good study habits, and deviant behavior reduction and avoidance.
WHAT IS OPERATION MAKING A DIFFERENCE? Operation Making A Difference, Inc. (OPMAD) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization developed to offer solutions, resolve conflicts, and eliminate obstacles that hinder youth from becoming productive and succesful citizens. We offer a 90-day program for youth and their families, which is inclusive of enrichment programs and activities, field trips and motivational, esteem building activities.
Youth between the ages of 10 and 18 are afforded the opportunity to receive guidance and assistance in tutoring, substances abuse, peer pressure, criminal behavior, family conflict resolution, and employment placement. This program is geared to impact at-risk youth and their families. Operation MAD seeks to assist youth from all walks of society, including those who may have learning difficulties, behavioral problems, and issues surrounding the environment in which they may reside.
OPMAD believes that our community depends on the strength of our youth. Together, with the help and involvement of their families and the community, we can guide them in the right direction.
